I am trying to license an invention to a company in Taiwan and they are using Creo 3.0. I have developed a clean parametric involute gear model in SolidWorks and want to get a Creo 3.0 version to send them to use.

I have cross-posted this in the Creo forum, but I know there are a lot of users that have access to both SolidWorks and Creo so I am asking here.

Does someone have a Creo 3.0 parametric gear file they are willing to share? Input the number of teeth, pressure angle and module and get a true involute profile. There are other parameters, but these are the essential ones.

If not, I can show someone the technique I use in SolidWorks for them to generate a Creo equivalent.

Thanks in advance!!

Can't just sent a STEP file?

Or Save As?

That is only a shorthand way of sending a dumb solid. To my knowledge there aren't any parametric file translators, at least nothing I could afford!

I want them to have a parametric file so they can easily modify the geometry.

SW can import Creo with parameters, but it can't export. Perhaps Creo does likewise?

The big risk is that the import may not support more advanced features like equation-driven curves. Probably better to create new in Creo.

Thanks for the replies, everyone. I connected with someone through the SWX forums and he helped me out.
