Looking for expanded metal IPT

Hoping to locate an Inventor IPT file for steel expanded metal in the regular form as opposed to flattened. More specifically 3/4" x #10 if available but any help appreciated.

Most users simply use the texture rather than trying to model.

If you model it (depending on the size) you will slow inventor to a crawl.. Use a texture as rollupswx suggested.

We've used that method for years but this project needs a detailed model for fits and clearances. Continual space and weight reduction efforts are affecting all kinds of materials today.

Here is what we use. Depending on the overall size you require, put it in an assembly then Pattern Component. This will slow down your computer if the pattern is too large. A work around is to pattern it say, 10 X 10, then derive a part from ass'y, then start a new ass'y with derived component and pattern again. Repeat until it's large enough. Again this will slow down your computer, but not as much.

I don't understand why fits and clearances have anything to do with this case. And for weight you can put in your own iProperties.

I'm sure you have good reasons, I just don't see em.

If you check out standard EM note the effective thickness compared to the metal thickness (stock gauge). Flattened 3/4 x 10 EM may be .070" thick while standard 3/4 x 10 is listed at .282" thick.
The apparent opening size changes depending on view which in turn affects size and presentation of parts extending through or into the EM.
