I am looking for information, book or website, to educate myself on pump applications in the oil and gas industry. I currently deal with diesel driven dewatering/bypass, electric, and hydraulic submersible pumps in the construction industry. I have a bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Start with the websites of the manufacturers of API pumps, Flowserve, Goulds, Sulzer, Clyde-Union, etc. Study the basic classifications of pumps they make for refinery services (end suction overhung, double suction, vertical canned, splitcase & barrel multistage, etc.) They will all have good general info on services the pumps are used in. This is a good way to get a quick overview and getting generally familiar with design considerations for handling hydrocarbons where reliability is essential.

If you try cozying up to the fire with a nice copy of API 610....or one of the hundreds of books on refinery services, you may end up throwing them in the fire before you learn anything.

Don't forget Ruhrpumpen's site either.
