4145 is simply a composition spec, which is now defined as UNS G41450. This is well defined (the UNS book is SAE HS-1086 or ASTM DS-561). As for other properties, they will be dependent on heat treatment and product form. The UNS book cross-references to applicable specifications for a number of product forms, but you will have to do the homework to find out which is applicable for your situation.

You can view this data here:

For whatever reason this website doesn't highlight the entire link, so you'll have to copy and paste it into your browser window. I would recommend purchasing this book from ASM International or from Amazon. It's an extremely useful book for finding this type of data for a wide variety of common (and not so common) materials. The link to the book on the Amazon website is here:

You might find it for a reduced price on the ASM International website.

Thanks.

Is it possible any way to view the original standard other than what is found in Heat Treater Guide.
Im in project, where i need to collect and compare the available standards with respect to supplier data.

kiranengr,
You may try and visit any library near your city, you sure will be able to get the information.

If you are in a project, surely there must be funds for purchase of books and technical material.
