Hello,

I have been using a loupedeck for a while to use with mapkeys to enhance my workflow. There is one drawback with the use and that is that it wont switch between programms and creo: it switches for example perfectly between outlook and word, to excel to powerpoint etc. But it wont switch to the custom buttons for usage with Creo.

Anybody here that is using a loupedeck and encountering this problem as well?

Outlook, Word, Powerpoint, and Excel are all written by the same company that wrote the OS, so I am not surprised that working with one works great with all the others. I'm sure it works OK with many other applications originally written for the native OS (Windows or Mac OS) It appears to have specific plug-ins for the applications you mentioned.

Creo has a far different history, originally being written to run on Unix.

In creating AutoIt software I found that Creo doesn't present the expected windows that others do. I think this is leftover from the lack of an essential UNIX windowing system . Instead of creating a window as needed as Windows apps seem to do, Creo will often create windows and give them off-screen coordinates.

If one is looking for a window-open or window close activity, it will never happen. Menu windows used to be entirely custom; not Windows menus. Very challenging.

It looks interesting. I originally started with a tablet system that had over 100 menu items (maybe 200) but that was for a command driven software - ComputerVision CADDS IV.

I'd contact loupedeck support and ask them. It's their software that is detecting the active task window and probably something they have to fix.

Well actually i contacted them but they didnt seem to know how to fix it, they only responded after a few times asking that they are working on it. However, i think the info you present here is maybe something that could be usefull to them, so will give that a shot Tnx!

PTC software predates Windows 2000. I recall using it while most computers around my company were using Windows 3.1 or Windows for Workgroups.

The SpaceMouse people have some integration with it but if the loupedeck people want to talk with someone I would start with B&W Software (

It's one of the few companies I've seen maintain a relationship with PTC. No guarantees, but B&W does specialize in Creo software add-ons where this may be a useful relationship.

For the longest time (probably longer than they should have), PTC maintained multi platform interoperability. For that reason, they avoided OS calls as much as possible in their software. So to this day I don't think it's really a wondoze piece of software. I don't think it's the UNIX roots so much as being OS agnostic.
