Hi Experts,

The building exterior that I want to install my new louvers are very close to another property (closer than 4 ft). Two new louvers one for outdoor air intake one for exhaust. They are ducted to new ERV in my space.

Can anyone please let me know if my louvers need to be fire-rated? Or do I need to put fire dampers on ducts connecting to new louvers?

Thanks

They need to be fire rated if they are being installed in fire rated wall. The rating of the wall must be maintained.
[IMC 501.3.1] "For all environmental air exhaust: 3 ft from property lines, 3 feet from operable openings into the buildling, 10 ft from mechanical air intakes."
