Low Pressure Sewer to Septic

I am designing an onsite wastewater treatment facility for 9 3-bedroom single-family residences. The system is going to be low pressure sewer from the houses to a common septic tank. The system is to be designed so that once municipal mains reach the site, the services can be connected.

I have concerns on the affect of ground up sewage entering a septic system. Has anybody designed a system similar to this, or have any helpful information.

The International Code Council has an Private Sewage Disposal code that a lot of health districts use as a model for their codes.

Whether it is a "community" septic system or an individual septic system, there will be ground up sewage in the septic tank.

when using low pressure collection and grinder pumps you will need to increase your tank size to allow the solids to settle out. usually accomplished with a secondary tank.
