Low Refractive Index Fluoropolymer(HELP) for thin film coating

I'm searching for candidate polymers that possess very low refractive index (~1.3 - 1.35) in the visible portion of the spectrum. Polymers/Ionomers that could be dissolved in solvents to get even relatively thin, coatings preferred. Polymer material is expected to act as an encapsulant. "Transparency" is pretty critical as well. I would really appreciate your inputs/feedback.

In the past I managed to find a site that had a list of fluoro monomers by refractive index to give what you are looking for. They were sold as coatings for fiber optic cables. I can't find it with a quick Google search.

For now I would suggest you look at these places that list specialty monomers and polymers:





Searching Google for "fluoropolymer refractive index 1.3" gave some good hits including:


You could plasma polymerise a very thin coating of fluoropolymer onto your substrate for example using the atmosperic plasma technique of Dow Corning as seen here:


I know they can do 30nm thick coatings of fluoroacrylates.

Also, Allied Signal did a lot of fluoro polymers. I think Allied are now Honeywell or BASF
