Can I use a low temp weld procedure for A106 material?

Not sure what you mean by low temperature welding procedure. Most welding procedures are for general application related to base materials being joined, and with and without impact qualification.

My question is why you would need a low interpass technique on cfe pipe?

Please start a new thread. Suggest you re-state your question and refer to low interpass temperature, not technique, and spell out cfe.

Welding procedures qualified per ASME IX with low temperature impact tests can be used for materials not subject to impact testing.

Weldstan is correct but I would add that WPS' developed and written for impact tested applications are needlessly restrictive for non impact applications.

Is the material listed in the WPS? Is the Material listed in the WPQ?

If the answer is no to either one. NO.

P No. is the essential variable for non-low temperature applications not the material specification.
