I am developing a pipe specification for Dow Syltherm XLT operating at -100 °F to + 200 °F and up to 150 psig in pipe sizes 1/2" through 6".

I am planning to use T304 SS pipe and fittings due to the low temperatures. I'd like to use class 150 flanges and ASTM A320 Grade L7 bolting if suitable.

Do you have a recommendation on gasketing? Is class 150 flanges and ASTM A320 Grade L7 bolting for this type of application? If so, what would be the desired bolt torques for the proposed gasket?

Thanks in advance for your input,

Proj.eng, Check with the DOW representative for applicable pipe spec's. for the material. That's how we developed ours. They are more than happy to help out, in fact they'll write the spec. for you.

Hope this helps.

Dow has been good for high temperature stuff, unfortunately they don't cover the low temperature pipe specs well. I've asked, but all they provide is high temperature specs.

thanks,
