I would appreciate if some one let me know the availability of LRUT (Long Range Ultrasonic Test) inspection technique for 4" to 42" flow lines and headers in Canadian Oil Sands.

LRUT (Long Range Ultrasonic Test) or Guided Wave Testing is used to inspect pipeline, plate, bridge cable, HX tube, anchor rod, and steel beam. The LRUT technique for pipeline inspection is widely used for finding any defects in the pipewall.

LRUT is available for most of pipelines with the following characteristics:
Wave: Ultrasonic
Operating frequency: 5kHz to 250 kHz
Pipe temperature: any temperature less than 300 Celsius degree
Inspection range: 20 ft to 500 ft along one direction depending on the pipe condition
Sensitivity: usually 2 percent pipe cross-sectional area. It is highly increased by using sectional probe that covers section of pipe.

The LRUT technique has significantly upgraded in sensitivity by using sectional probe in inspecting especially big diameter pipe.

Please use the LRUT technique and save time and money.
