LV Switchgear Type test as per IEC 60439-1

dear tech friends...As you know switchgear is a tailor made product & can have different configurations, components etc as per the customer requirement. But when you are going to first time launch a product, you are required to Type test it as per IEC 60439-1 standard ( required mostly for Europian market).
Now my question is; How do I decide which configuration, which components etc are to be considered for this testing?
