Does anyone know if there is any manufacturer that can produce machined springs (compression) that can take a load up to approx. 899200 lb (4000kN). We're quite flexible on size, but I am not very familiar with this type of products and what is actually possible produce.

Thanks!

A quick search found these guys:

Maybe you can find someone else with a longer search.

Most any machine shop should be able to make a helical machined spring, but you'll have to design it yourself. Just use the equations for rectangular wire, and allow a large enough static coil pitch to get some kind of cutter in there. Work with the machine shop on that.

A spring that is machined and a machined spring might be considered two different things. I recommend you check out Heli-Cal Products; see
They developed special methods for manufacturing machined springs for very difficult applications. They did not patent, and will not discuss, any of their methods so no one does it the way they do.
