Hell colleagues !

In the view environment i create a helical gear pair with "3d contact method" (i tried that with "simplified" too).
Both gears are connected to a pair of shafts (each on each) with rigid connections.
shafts are connected to the ground with a revolute joint.

when i apply torque on any of the shafts, i dont see smooth running of the gear pair and the output data (torques, moments, forces) seems so strange....
I see some glitchy fluctating motion and results are more than strange...

how can i model a simple basic two gear - two shaft system and observe forces and velocities at the revolute joints (the reaction forces from torque trasmittion)

I tried youtube tutorials but it keeps on and on....

can you throw some insights to a lamer

thanx in advance

...is it that the gear pairs accept only motions as inputs, but not torques ?

in the case of the problem i apply the torque (from the Applied forces tab) upon the input shaft and some smaller torque in the output shaft, representing the countertorque....

I haven't used the 3d contact method with gears. The gear coupler method seemed robust. Perhaps you could post your model.

Cheers
