Machining data - database- best practise?

Hi.
I have a lot of tools, with everyday used cutting parameters. There are some tools for tempered AND hardened steel. In the "tool_machining_data.dat", there is no link to the materials..
When I use part material AND tool material, I get false parameters, because I need different cutting parameters for ballmill and flat-end mill. When I use Z-level profile for roughing (because cavity mill has no ramp-on-part option..), I need roughing parameters..

How can I use this database?

As you have seen, the tool machining data bypasses the calculations - this is for a tool that always runs the same, such as a chamfer mill with a certain sweet spot.

I would use different tool materials for the ball and flat. For example we did this with our OOTB tool "materials" for HSM:

TMC0_00021 | HSM Ball Mill TiAlN Coated | HSM Carbide Ball Mill
TMC0_00022 | HSM End Mill TiAlN Coated | HSM Carbide End Mill, up to 5% Corner Radius
TMC0_00027 | HSM Bull Nose TiAlN Coated | HSM Carbide Bull-nose Mill

Use the cut method for rough, finish, slotting, or whatever detail you need.

Don't forget - once you have your machining data populated, and the methods and materials set in your templates, you can turn on a preference to always set the speed, feed, depth of cut, and stepover whenever an operation is created.

Sorry Mark, I forget this thread..Thanks for your attention.

I made an example for myself. I added my tools to database, new cut method, new Machining method etc.
The Machining methods contains many data: stock, tolerance, cut method, and feedrate.
I want my operations to inherit only the cut method. If I add my previously created operation, what use no method, it automatically switched the part stock to inherit. How can I make this failsafe?

Is there a way to remove stock, etc from Machining method?
Or can I define somehow the cut method in an operation?

I want to try to avoid many methods, I really need only one to get the data for each tool. The feed and speed parameters are the same at roughing, and finishing.
Only the cut depth varies according to the geometry.
