I need load tables for Macomber Joists ASAP. I saw Mattman had some info on an earlier posting. Specifically I am looking for info on Joists called out as a J-1 516P or a J-2 416P. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Fax (310) 791-7308.

Mattman - sounds like you ought to publish these valuable charts - you could make a million! [wink]

bhop- I'll fax you what I have in the morning.

I don't have the catalog in front of me; I don't know offhand if the joists you are looking for are in there. Good luck!

JAE- You're right! Maybe I should start a consulting firm exclusively dedicated to providing the Macomber catalog to desperate engineers at an exorbitant cost!

Maybe call it Pirate Engineers? Arrgh, Maties! [pirate]

Mattman, I appreciate the help. After extensive internet searching you are the only person I have been able to find with the goods.

Well, I seem to remember you helping me quite some time ago on a Macomber issue. I know that a lot of fellow engineers in offices where I've worked have always had a flippant attitude about throwing old joist and other misc. structural catalogs and books away.

"We'll never need it" was based on the assumption that all our new design efforts would use the current stuff. But it seems that more often than not we are asked to retrofit existing structures and ....Gee Whiz! we sure needed that old catalog after all.

Mattman -

You seem to be the only one, possibly in the nation, who has information on Macomber floor joists. I also am another structural engineer in need of this information. If you would be so obliged, could you fax some information ASAP on joists designated 24F35 to (401) 724-1981. Also, our office is looking to get a copy of one of the Macomber catalogs. If you could tell me of any place/person from which we could obtain one, that would be fantastic.

Thanks,
