When I go to to tools macros, some of my macros are listed by macro_name only and others are 'filename'!macro_name.macro_name. How do I get them to be listed by macro_name only?

There really isn't a way to set it to show just the macro names due to the fact that you may have macros that are named the same in different workbooks.

The macros reside in the only workbook they were ever in and the names are different than any other workbook I have open. Here's what tools, macro has (Macros in 'This workbook'):

ControlApp
'Data Collection.xls'!DelDup.DelDup
'Data Collection.xls'!Match.Match
Start1
Start2

These macros are all in the same workbook. I don't know why the macro name is repeated either.

When I choose 'all open workbooks' I see the ones in 'Personal.xls' and they look like:

'PERSONAL.XLS'!Remove

The macro name isn't repeated.

I have seen this before, and it is some [bat]"feature" in the bookkeeping of Excel. I haven't found an easy way to get rid of it. The behaviour should only occur, like asmenut said, when you have two macros with the same name. One thing you can try is to copy the code of the macro, for example your DelDup macro, paste it, and change the name of the new sub, for example to DeleteDup. Then see if this shows up properly, and if it does, delete the DelDup original.
Good luck.

Joerd

Hey Thanks.

You did give me a easy way to get rid of it. I'll just create new modules and block copy the code there. It's not as easy as editing the name but it will do and isn't a major hassle.

I thank you and so does the poor sap who will have to take over my stuff after I leave.
