Hi All,

I am constructing opposite poles electromagnet.
For the core I am going to use plates from the transformer (cut to required size on guillotine).
I would like to cover exposed edges (after cutting on guillotine) of those plates with some laquier (to maintain effect of reduced eddy currents and increased magnet efficiency).
Could you recommend any material for that purpose which is commonly used in houses?

Thanks.

Regards

Red Glyptal is commonly used for windings, but you may be able to use any clear, high temperature two part epoxy, such as colorless or amber. Opaque epoxies can contain iron or aluminum.

@FiatFlux

Thank you for your response I decided to use similar varnish. It was Electrotube (CPL200H). Thank you for your reply.
