Magnetic Field Detector on MOTOR DC 2

Hi all!
I was given a task to build a magnetic field detector in a dc motor
Is it possible? I want to use a hall effect sensor
I'm thinking where I would place the sensor
1. Inside a stator without rotor?
2. By reading RPM and converting it into Voltage Motor & ampere meter to read Current Motor?
Is there another way? Please give me your idea

If that's the rig why not use a simple reed switch, looks to me like you could trigger a switch from stray field anywhere near the motor.

Sorry the detector's output would be in Tesla, if I were to use reed switch, the output will only become 1 and 0 right?
 
Right.

It would have been most considerate of you to specify that you need an analog output in units of T in your first message.

By omitting that little tidbit, you have wasted a day of your time. We don't care about that.

You have also wasted the time of several highly skilled people, whose time you could not afford if you had to pay for it. They have kindly volunteered to help you, for free. In future, please do not disrespect them by similarly wasting their time, inducing them to answer an incompletely specified problem.

Now, the next tidbit needed is, where do you wish to measure the field?
Obviously, you can measure _a_ field by strapping a Hall sensor to any single wire,
or suspending it anywhere in space, but that may not be what you want.

We might be able to guess better if you tell us what you are studying, and specifically what part of the field around or in the motor you wish to measure.

Hi, allright I understand. Thanks for the advice Mike.

I am a mechatronic student and was given a task to build a device to measure magnetic field strength (B) in a DC motor
The lecturer will not give me specific detail about whether I should attach the rotor or not as I have to figure it out myself.
It is easier to understand how to apply if the rotor is removed, but I'm thinking it would be best if I could measure the (B) while the rotor is working too. So,

1. The DC motor I'll be using is DL 1023 type
Datasheet DL 1023

2. The sensor I'll be using is Hall Effect Sensor, probably type 3503 or A1302.

3. The output of sensor will be transferred to Arduino, and the result will be displayed in LCD 16X2 (in Gauss units)

My question would be:

1. Where and How should I put this sensor?
Is it possible to measure (B) without putting the sensor inside?
