I currently have a mains power supply harness for an electric motor which is used on a Transport Refrigeration unit. Harness basically consists of a soft nylon hose as a conduit which carries individual 400VAC and Earth wires. THe power carrying wires are individually insulated but are loose inside the conduit. I hope you can visualize what I mean.
Does this set-up meet European legislation requirements for mains power to Electric Motor used in Transport. Any information on this subject or opinions would be appreciated.

Why use hose? There are numerous flexible conduit products designed for protecting electrical cables that are available in the UK.

Try searching for 'Kopex' or 'Adaptaflex' as two brand names to begin with.

Suggestion to the previous posting. Often, wiring around more mechanical systems is performed by non-electrical personnel. It is possible to see that the electrical expertise would tend to apply proper electrical equipment or material. In some instances, such unprofessionally designed electrical installations pose hazards to personnel.
