Maintenance of equipment in Hazardous areas

I am trying to find a standard detailing an inspection and maintenance startegy for equipment located in hazardous areas. The site I am working with has a mixture of european Ex rated equipment and American UL/CSA type equipment.

I have the European standrad EN60079-17 which details inspection and maintenance for Ex equipment, however It does not cover equipment to the American or Canadian standards.

For instance, are there any requirements for periodic inspection of conduit systems located in hazardous environments?
