Make Current Feature problem

Had a fairly complex model with no problems found using the examine geometry analysis. After making an earlier feature current, I added a blend. Upon attempting to make the last feature current, received a 'memory access violation' error.
Even upon deleting the last blend added, was still unable to make the last feature current.

GTAC changed the IR to a PR with critial priority. No help so far.

I found it possible to make one feature at a time current until I got to the last feature. Found an interference problem in the assembly and had to go back to an earlier feature and now have the same problem. This time I can't even make the single next feature current.

Anyone have a similar experience?

Anyone have suggestions?

Presently using NX2.04 on Win2K OS.

I've had some weird things happen like this at times. I would suggest exporting just the part file to a new part, then adding it back into the assembly if possible. This will give it a fresh database, etc.

Also try part cleanup & see what happens.

I don't work in very large assemblies (less than 10 parts max.) so I don't know how that's going to affect your part or assembly.

Hope this helps a little bit.

Thanks for the input.

Parts cleanup did not help -- already tried before calling GTAC.

Had a 2nd part begin acting up, could not delete some prior features. Also got "memory access violation" error message. Took that part to another UG user at a different location -- they had the same problems with it.

GTAC suggested installing maintenance pack MP3.

We have approval to do so and plan an immediate installation today.

Will also try your suggestion of exporting the part.

Will keep you posted.

I had a similar problem using NX2 to edit a part created in NX1. GTAC is still working on it.

UPDATE

Exporting the part did not help.

Installing the MP3 maintenance pack did not help.

GTAC is still working on it.

UPDATE

Had another part with similar problem. Perhaps because we do a lot of blending as the parts are castings.

GTAC elevated the issue to a PR Critical 1. A reply on Friday indicated the problem had been resolved and would be in upgrade NX 2.05.2 which should be available in mid December 2004.

We've decided to resume modeling in NX1 as a result. It is too expensive to have models become trash when they are almost complete. Perhaps we will reconsider after 2.05.2 has been out a few months.

Hello,
I am litle bit late but if you the same problem I can
sugest alitle trick:
create a block as last feature and reorder that into model
navigator. This cause the system to regenerate everything
and analyse the geometry again.
