hello

how can I make up Units that aren't in Adams/Car or View or … ?

For example how can I make acceleration based on g ( gravity 9.81 m/s**2 ) ?

can i do this in Adams or should i export the numeric value to another software such as MATLAB ? if so could you explain more ?

thank you very much for your kind and accurate responses every time i have asked for it .

May I ask what units you are missing? It seems to me that from the units provided, starting with meters and ending with pounds, should be enough.
If you need units of measure, for example, for such things as density, pressure, power, then they are derived from system units.
Suppose, if you want to know the power expended on rotation, create torque and angular velocity measures, and then multiply them from into Function Builder. The resulting value will be in the required values.
Regarding g-based acceleration. It can also be specified as a function, at least 3g, at least 5g.
If something I did not understand myself, or from my words - write, discuss it.

thank you very much for your kind replying I have been waiting for an answer long enough .

I need (g) based acceleration for vertical chassis movement when I'm getting the results from Adams post-processing .

maybe there's something that I don't understand in your explanation so I have to ask these questions :

1- for changing , for example , vertical acceleration units for getting results based on (g) (unit of acceleration and 9.81 m/s**2) ,you are saying , I can do this by function builder and varying the variables so I get an acceleration unit based on (g) ?

2- you are saying at least 3g , 5g … so can it be 1g for example and can it take on any other gain ?

thank you very much .

Let us proceed from the fact that you need to get acceleration in units of "g". In Adams Aview, you can create a measure and determine the acceleration of an object in any of the planes using the tab "measure"(right click on the body). So do if you do not have it yet. Then on the top toolbar in the “Design Exploration” tab in the “Measures” block, click on the f (t) icon to open the Function Builder. Add your acceleration measurement there in the line “getting object data” -> “insert object name” and just divide it by 9.81. For 2g, divide by 19.62 and so on. A new “Function_MEA_1” gauge will be created, which will show the values already in units of “g”.

Similar actions can be performed in the postprocessor window (F8). After receiving the chart with the units “m/s2”, go below the chart from the “data” tab to “math”, then in the “Y Expression” line add the division sign and number 9.81 or another ”and then APPLY. The graph will update and show the acceleration values in “g”.

I hope I understood you correctly and was able to help. If not, then I'm in touch

thank you very much for clearing things up .

Sorry for bothering the hell out of you with my numerous questions ...

appreciate it ...

No problems. Something I also learn on forums. I tried to tell you a little how to do this in Aview. In adams car, everything is the same, only for this you need to enter the expert user mode so that you can switch to the Aview interface via the Tools tab.
