Hey everyone, I am a newbie to your forum, but have been trying to find someone who can help me identify what I need for this project. Hopefully, someone knows the answer.

Okay, here's the project. I will try and give as much description as possible. I am trying to create a custom interior for a trunk in a 2000 Acura Integra. The interior is mostly plastic that I will be taking molds/casts from. I am going to have a lot of strange contours and shapes involved when making the master mold/cast. The MASTER mold/cast itself needs to be very strong as we'll be using it for several applications. The biggest problem we're running into is finding a molding material that will allow us to make a mold/cast that is in a vertical position.

We will then take the finished peice out of the car and attatch foil, or release agents to it to apply fiberglassing materials/resins to create fiberglass enclosures. Normally, we apply fiberglass to the interior directly, but this has become costly and the chemical residue lasts too long for comfort. Our clients do NOT like the lingering fiberglass odors in their vehicles while the fiberglass is setting and/or drying for final prep.

Someone suggested plasti-paste product. This looks like it should work, but we were unable to contact them. Does anyone have experience with this product, or know of another product that will allow us to make this project work?? I appreciate the help!! Thanks!!

Boatbuilders make molds of fiberglass, backed with steel and/or plywood. They commonly position the molds in odd orientations to aid layup.
