manage data without a database

I am trying to create a list that can be added to. Save the list, reveiw the list all with out using a database.
Any clues.

Thanks for the feedback
brengine - i already have this application set up in excel, which performs a variety of calculations (the list is only a small part of the whole thing)
Francis - The list will not have many items. I want to create a stand alone application that can run on a windows pc without the need for an add on database application.
