Hi,

When i define the lateral mass in Etabs, there are 2 items which needs to be checked (include lateral mass only and lumpimg mass at each floor level), should i check these 2 ??

Include lateral mass only will be okay for most applications, but there will be occasions where vertical mode shapes become important. For example, if you have a cantilever, you will need to uncheck that option to include only lateral mass.
