Mate button not working

After doing an exploded view of an assembly component, my mate button gets suppressed. I had this problem once and I had resolved it, but now I don’t remember how I did it. Can anyone help me, it is really annoying.

Scott ... That's strange ... It works fine for my install of SW06-SP4.1. The Mate icon stays active.

Hmmm mine does now too.. I know a custoemr just called this issue into me here and it didn't work for me either... found that KBA and forgot about it. Something must be different in the way of options being set. Not sure what that would be though?
