Material needed...

We are in need of a porous material, ceramic or phenolic, which will leach water without dripping. The challenges we are facing are, the materials must be very durable for field applications and must glue into a plastic holder using a commercially available adhesive. We prefer to pour and fire our own materials if possible.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You are refering to using capillary action to retain water in pores. A kitchen sponge will do that. The concept will not work for a container made of a porous wicking material. Water will flow through the pores and drip off the outside unless it evaporates faster than it can flow through the pores. Goretex will allow water vapor to pass though but not liquid water.
