Hi All,

I am working on a project where I have select materials for the sewer drain pipes for animal ( mainly Cow) fat and blood processing facility. The fluid is water at 85 Deg C with animal blood in it. I wanted to request any references that I could use to make a recommendation for the material of construction for the gravity drain pipes.

Thanks and Regards,
Pavan Kumar

You can look at vivarium design guidelines to see if there are special circumstances associated with cow fat and blood processing. You can also contact vendors that create carcass treatment systems for recommendations.

The 85C bit rules out PE, but check PVC.

Ductile Iron should be OK.

Can't see blood being an issue. More clogging with fat if it gets cold.
