hello every body
we want to construct a 80" pipe with plate with one weld seam.
the owner wants from us to use a plate which should be equivalent to ASTM A671 CB60 CL.10.
please tell me a plate specification

80" would commonly be spiral welded, you can do it with one longitudinal seam, but be warned that the pieces will be short since they are limited by the width of the plate. That will be a lot of curcumriencial welds.

What's the question?

Why can't you use A671?

Remember - More details = better answers
Also: If you get a response it's polite to respond to it.

We can't find a671 in the market. So we have to buy an equivalent plate.
Please tell me a common material to substitutute it with a671.

You might get a better answer in the metal and metalurgy engineering forum under materials engineers.

does your pipe supplier not have an option?

Why can't you use the plate specified in Table 1 of A671?

Take the UNS and strength and start comparing that to what people are offering.
But be aware of any special properties (or testing) that A671 requires.

Hello,

Material ASTM A671 CB60 CL.10 is a fusion welded pipe, that mean make from plate.
I have a look in ASME IX, material fall P-Number 1 and Gr-Number 1, so this is may offer equivalent plate material P-No. 1 and Gr.-No. 1 such API 5L, ASTM A516 Gr. 60 or other plate the same minimum tensile 60 KPSI. Don't forget to get approved from your engineering and your Client.

Thanks and hope that to help you.

sincerely yours,
