Is there a term like extrudable or maleable that denotes material that can be bent to a sharp radius? or can be sliced into thin sheets by skiving? Thanks

I think common terms like Forming ability-"bend" formed (Bending forming process/deep drawing for sheet metal) and machining ability (skiving gear tooth) can be used. But I am not sure what exactly are you looking for?

No, not without a lot more definition.
Are you trying to skive thin sheets to use, or are you folding them up to make fins, or are you just making little grooves?

I was trying to explain to my son that for high quality heat sinks, they can skive a block of copper and bend the part upwards, and repeat the process to produce a 'finned' copper heatsink. I was wondering if there were terms for this process. Maybe a skived copper heatsink is a good description. Just did a search and that works... Thanks gentlemen, I maybe should have done that first.

It just so happens that Cu has good heat sink properties and is one of the very few metals that you can do this with.

Thanks, Ed. I never thought using the term skiving could be used in the definition. It appears the process can be used for aluminum (some?), too. Will dig up Youtube... I knew skiving was used for thin slicing... used to use it when I was younger for slicing leather for thinning it down, but didn't know it was used as part of a process for making them.
