Hello, i have been working on a valve project on my side time and finally reached a prototype stage. I planned to use a three ceramic disc seal but costs for just a prototype are too high.

I do not have enough experience to say ya or nay on materials to be used on a periodically rotational seal. This will be used on a water proportioning valve similar to those in faucet but controlled by a stepper motor. I wont have much for torque and surface frictions between materials is my concern.

Does anyone have recommendations or material reference i could study to solve this?

Fluid: Water
Temp: 37-165°F
Pressure: 135 PSIG

Thanks in advance. Not sure where else to turn but to more minds with different experiences.

Thanks TugboatEng, would it be advised to use bronze on outer metal or have it be the middle material?
The three discs work by having outer discs stationary with middle disc rotating. Outer discs have a raised face to reduce surface contact and potentially reducing friction or would it be better to increase surface area reducing pressure ( I haven;t done any calcs on this)
