I can drop all of these in separate posts, but decided to throw them all in one in case any of this is related.
Reading through some of the other posts, I was frustrated to see a pattern of customer support (lack of?) for customers that don't opt for the executive-gold-plated customer service subscription.
We have a total of 13 licenses in house for Mathcad. The majority are for version 14. (Not all are in use, so we haven't upgraded the others). When migrating workstations, I had to do the jump-through-hoops 4 hours + on the phone for license transfer from one workstation to another. Once we got all the new versions up and running (all running XP pro, 1gb ram, same font libraries copied to each), we encountered the following problems:
1) On two of the workstations, when a template is opened, some of the text is wrapped. All other workstations, it opens on one line, but on these two it runs to two lines, and things become illegible. Same font files, same printer setups, etc. (Tried to to a full un-install and reinstall, but made no noticeable change - Is there a list of registry keys and folders available to do a full dump?)
2) On one of the two workstations above, in addition to it wrapping the text, some of the graphics from Autocad that we have dropped in are bounced all over the sheet, apparently at random.
3) One of the workstations above also has the following errors pop up:
File was opened, and modified. When he clicked save, machine hummed for a minute and popped up "Parameter is not valid." Would not do a "saveas" (network, or local) either.
When the same file was open and he clicked print, error out on that as well. (I don't know what that error message was. He had closed the file, and when he tried to open it again, crashed the program). Thought maybe just a corrupt file, but has happened with others also (independent files, not using one to create the other).
As a majority of the problems have been confined to a couple machines, I thought it might just be something with those machines, but the hardware setup is identical to the station sitting next to it. PTC's lack of support has also done little to build our confidence in the program, so any help or hints would be greatly appreciated.
