I'm looking to upgarde to V14 on the basis that it is supposed to be Vista compatible, however it appears they are adding a more complicated licence management system and its getting confusing as the price differentials in Australia are high.

For a V12-V14 single user downloadable upgrade, its 299USD, in Europe is 400USD, and in Australia its technically not available as a download but the CD version is between 540USD and 880USD. Has it always been like this or is this PTC profiteering?

I would like to be able to use it on my lapstop as well as my desk top (I currently do this with V12) but I have been told I need a special transferable licence and buy the maintenance too.

Does anyone use V14 standalone on two machines? or has any experience with transfering the licence?

M14 should also allow you to have two installations

If you have someone in the US who can bring it to you personally you can save a lot on shipping and customs duties.
