It is a long time since I used Mathcad on my own computer and now I think I have to reinstall it on the new one.
I started my old Dell (2x800Mz Intel CPUs & Windows 2000) and found I had version 11.2a installed.

As PCT have made such a pigs ear of updating Mathcad and show little interest in helping single users who have purchased their software, I thought I would install a version that did not require jumping through hoops to get a running system.

I have the choice of versions 4 through 14 (14 is old and I missed the print preview download deadline) and will use it on an XP system.

Can somebody say which version was the last NOT to have the registration requirement (was it 10?) that will work with XP.

Perhaps the XP OS does not give such a choice?

Thanks for any help
Richard

10? not sure which version THAT is, unless it's 2001, or 2001i, which do not require accessing the PTC license server.

However, PTC is usually willing to activate M11, which might be a better choice.

However, as for jumping through hoops, even M11 ought to get its two service packs installed as well. Can't recall if 2001i had any service packs, although, it might be proper to claim that 2001i was the service pack for 2001.

In any case, I'm pretty sure that everything before M11 only used to serial number for activation.

Thanks for the help.

I've just looked over at the shelf and 2001 is standing next to 2001i, Axum 6 and 13.

I think I'll try 2001i tomorrow then.

Many thanks again.
