Max allowed thickness of seamless pipes

When it comes to tolerances of the nominal thickness of a pipe, most pipespecs have this text:
"The minimum wall thickness at any point shall not be more than 12.5% under the nominal wall thickness specified."

So how much thicker than the nominal thickness is the pipe allowed to be?

Depends om material specification.
E.g. for A 312 see table 3. for plus tolerance.

In some pipe specs the max wall is only limited by the total weight of the pipe.
Yes, in most cases you can ship sch80 in place of sch40 and it meets the specs.
