I'm R&D Engineer in a coating company and writing technical data sheets of products is in my responsibility. This is so bored task, because marketing department always demand re-control of data sheets. Differences in data sheets or formal problems are frustrating. How do you generate your datasheets? Do you use any program? We have nearly 150 product and I write TDS in 2 languages. So it takes a lot of time. I write the information in TDS Word Template but, while my manager is controlling them, he always change the format or sentences. So I have to fix again :(

Datasheets are normally produced in MS Excel, due to pre-formatting options, possibility to introduce drop-down lists with predefined contents, etc. This will help in preventing from any person editing contents of the cells. However make sure other users can provide their comments, via e.g. blank cells that get automatically highlighted once they get any content.

Technical sheets are generated in MS Word in my company. We use a certain datasheet template but I had problems in translation and format of datasheets. I read a post about an application in a Linkedin group, but it is in BETA version now, if you want to try, you can search as TDSmaker, website - www. tdsmaker.com I didn't try yet, but I've only looked its website, it seems usefull.

Thank you for advices Dejan & Jane.

I looked TDSmaker and signed in. They offered me to design a new template for TDS in automatic mail :)
I requested them to design my company template with their application and an example for my product, I wait it. After they send me, I will share the results and functions with you ...
Thanks Jane

Thank you Jane, I tried TDSmaker application (www. tdsmaker.com )and have good results. Also I created datasheets in 7 languages and revised datasheet template. Also my supervisor was shocked after she saw new datasheets in 7 languages with professional design :)

Note: Jane, you wrote you didn't sign in, if you look at an example, I can share my datasheet with you by mail ;)
