Hi, just one quick question. Since I only provide cohesion(c) and dilation angle(ϕ) to ABAQUS, does that mean ABAQUS monitor the hydrostatic stress during the simulation process and determine the yield stress?

Actually, for Mohr-Coulomb model you have to specify:
- friction angle
- dilation angle
- cohesion yield stress
- abs plastic strain

The last two parameters are for Mohr-Coulomb hardening.

Thanks FEA way, I am aware of that but could you clarify my statement about hydrostatic stress?
For example, we do not have to provide compressive stress in this diagram, so does that mean that ABAQUS monitor the compressive stress on x-axis and decide the yield stress on the y-axis? Thanks.
