Hello all,

I tried to measure the area of a closed composite curve, which is composed of 3 curves in Siemens NX.
However the system told me error, when I tried each time...

Does anyone know how to solve the problem?
Or is there a better way to measure the area of a closed composite curve in Siemens NX?
(I couldn't find proper resources in Google...)

Thanks for a reply in advance!

Best regards,
Ray

I suspect the curves do not intersect.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply!
The three curves don't intersect; otherwise I couldn't have made them composite.

I tried a intersect version, but still in vain...
Should the curves be intersect for the function "area from curves"?

what I meant was the curves don't close (to create an area within them).

Possibly one curve is a composite of other curves, and maybe this is a problem. Then divide your area into pieces so that each side is a single curve.

Hello all,

Thanks for the hint. After removing the composite feature, I could finally create a face with the three individual curves.
The problem now is, the recorded journal doesn't record its area from measure.

If I want to get the green area, is there a better way than the method above?
Another solution I came up with is extruding->measure area ->delete extrusion, which is obviously not better...

Best regards,
Ray

don't really understand "recorded journal" ? You're using Siemens NX, so something like FeMap. In FeMap under Tools there is Measure which includes Surface Area. If you've created a bounded surface there there are several ways to measure it, Properties and the like.
