Hi
I'm looking for a way to measure the runout between two internal features on a small, radially symmetric part. We currently measure runout from the OD to the ID and from OD to a c’bore, but the performance of the part is determined primarily by the runout between the ID and c’bore. These parts are cold formed on a 5-die progressive header, and the features of interest are not formed at the same die. Is there a type of indicator or fixture that might be able to help measure this?

Thanks!

While runout is a perfectly valid callout for this part, you may want to consider a similar positional callout. Depending on the function of the part, functional gaging may be an acceptable alternative to checking runout. Can you elaborate more on how the part works?
