Hi everyone. I may have to replace the blower motor in my Respironics CPAP machine because of increasing vibration.( CPAP is a snore machine basically) I checked the large electronic catalogs,Graingers, but no go.There are really no markings on the motor to get a handle on the company who manufactures it. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Jenkins have a fan catalog on the web. The catalog can be used although you have no knowledge of the manufacturer of the fan/electrical motor. Unfortunately, I suspect that their fans are way to large for your purpose. You could check it out, though:

I can see only two ways out:

#1 - contact the manufacturer of the CPAP machine to see what motor they used when they built it.

#2 - Figure out what type of replacment motor you need:
- Do measurements of foot mounting and shaft height to determine frame size
- Determine speed (perhaps the driven load has a nameplate that identifies speed.... if not you can measure it with a strobotach).
- Determine voltage - based on how the motor is hooked up.
- Determine horsepower requirement - either by examining nameplate of the driven load, or by measuring current and using P = I*V/efficiency/power factor for single-phase motor.. you'll have to estiamte efficiency and power factor... we can provide more thoughts on that if you want.

Consider special requirements for possible explosive atmosphere etc.

Maybe a good motor distributor can help you through that process (that's how they earn their commision).

Hi JohnSP,

Try Litton Poly-Scientific on 800 577 8685 x222 or 800 577 8685 x 256

///What is not clear from the posting is for how long the machine has been in the operation. The blower motor assemblies have various life-cycles ranging from very short to very large depanding on the quality of the components and assembly. It may or may not pay to replace the motor, if the rest is worn out.\\
