member modification

In a welding frame, I have grouped few members to have the same part number ( because of same profile and length). I have created a drawing view and inserted a BOM too.

Now I have to create couple of holes on one of the grouped members. This will be a new part number now.

I need the BOM to show 1-less from grouped members.
A new item added for the altered member.

How to do this? Can somebody comment please.

The modified member should have a different name than the others since it's not the same part.

Its not needed to name members. they are automatically named. Thats is fine with me.

In BOM management I have grouped like members to have the same partnumber. Now, I have a engineering change and have to drill holes on one of the grouped member. I dont know how to get this one out of the group and have a different part number.

Use Saveas and then rename the part.

If I do rename part, I would not be connected to the frame generator any more.

After this, I think I will not be able to modify members using frame generator any more.
