MEMS Pressure sensor array

Can any one provide me information that might be useful in construction of a pressure sensor array. The array needs to be placed over the index finger to measure pressure due to holding of needle holder while doing surgery.

I guess this possibly can be done using MEMS technology. Any information is welcome.

Hve you thought about using a tactile sensor glove, e.g.:

That document is pretty old, but a websearch might pull up some more contemporaneous information.

Due to the fact that this sensor will be used between a surgeon and his tools, I would consult an ergonomist on this question. I have put together a larger touch sensor in the past using silicon nitride diaphragms with polysilicon piezoresistors.
