Success!

I started with the word document "Free_NX_Machinery_Library_Installation.doc" from the GTAC server. What follows are the additional steps I took. They worked for me, but I assume no responsibility if things go awry. I'll try not to leave anything out, but please USE WITH CAUTION.

1) From the GTAC server DL and unzip "Machinery-library-install-tool-2009-11-09.zip". I unzipped it to my desktop. The file created is called "NX_Machinery Library Install - kits".

2) Go to the folder called libs:
\NX_Machinery Library Install - kits\tool\libs

3) From the GTAC server DL the zip files of the components you want available; for example "ISO-2009-10-09.zip"

4) Place each DL'd zip file within the lib folder mentioned in Step 2.

5) Look for and read within notepad the file "libraries.properties":
\NX_Machinery Library Install - kits\tool\configuration\libraries.properties

6) Rename the unzipped folders in the libs folder to correspond with the names written in the file libraries.properties. For example, according to libraries.properties you will see the following:
#iso
ISO_NAME=ISO
Therefore "ISO-2009-10-09.zip" you DL'd earlier becomes simply "ISO.zip".

7) Before running the install tool, I placed my existing folders in the NX "Standard Parts" folder (C:\Program Files\UGS\NX 7.0\UGII\Reuse Library\Standard Parts\) in to a temporary file called "originals" just to be safe. If I find anything missing, I know where to look.

8) Run the insall tool "MachineryLibrary-Installation.bat" within "\NX_Machinery Library Install - kits\tool\"

9) Select Native if you don't have Teamcenter.

10) The Library Configuration will run for a while depending on how many zip files you placed in the libs folder.

11) Select the appropriate path for your reuse library. For me it was "C:\Program Files\UGS\NX 7.0\UGII\Reuse Library\Standard Parts\".

12) Continue the install and that's it!

13) To check if all went well, open a new assembly part in NX.

14) Select the Reuse Library tab.

15) Make sure the "Member Select" window is open ^.

16) Open various folders you installed until some parts appear in the Member Select window.

17) Drag them from the select window onto your work area to use them in your assembly.

18) Opps! One last thing... I took the folders that I had moved during Step 7 back into the folder "Standard Parts" being sure to select SKIP for to avoid overwriting any of the new folders I DL'd.

Cheers!

i put my files on the server for access to all users, which meant changing it's location from within the custommer defaults...

John,
I noticed, in the re-use library files, you can't just turn on the threads, in the old part families which i used to use, which i think you created, you simply changed an expression "threads" from 0 to 1 to get fully detailed threads, but these one's don't seem to have that ??

I donated my original fastener library files to the group responsible for these new libraries along with my recommendations, but they were free to do their own thing, so it is what it is. Sorry :-(
