Hi all,

I'm doing one subject with a simple pipe, but I don't know how to mesh the pipe with thickness. I create the pipe by creating volume--by dimensions. An I tried free mesh already, not work. Also in material type, I choose pipe element(task needed), I tried all three 3D type, not work.

Cheers!!

Hi Longfei,

Would you be able to elaborate more on your methods thus far? I assume you are using ANSYS APDL (classic)?

Also, what kind of analysis are you trying to do with this pipe? Just a simple structural one? Right now I have no idea what your goal is outside of just wanting a mesh for your model.

You can always use structural solid elements and create something like a pipe of a beam. Solid elements are more advanced and will take more memory, but will be more accurate and should have less restrictions.
