Hi guys. Anybody know of a 9X9 mesh fabric that will pass burn tests per 25.855? This is a 9G separator net for a bulk loaded airplane. The mesh is used to keep smaller stuff in place. I'd use herculite, but can't because the customer doesn't want to re-do the smoke detection test.

Not sure what was used originally. The customer and their original supplier are not on speaking terms.

You might be confused, 25.855 is for the liner (walls, ceiling, floor) and not separator nets. Liners have to meet burn-through per Appendix F25.3. Tiedown equipment would only have to meet Appendix F25.1, 4.0 ipm horizontal test, most every nylon and polyester would easily meet. Wise to use identical size/pitch/open space mesh to remain similar to existing smoke detection test results.

der8110,

Thanks for the reply. Non-liner materials are covered in 25.855(d).

My concern is that the mesh is vinyl coated, like that used on dump truck covers. I'm looking at Bo-Tex 1300. They say that it meets some sort of horizontal burn test. I'm going to call them today to get clarification.
