Miami-Dade Foundation Design

I am trying to get more information pertaining to typical foundation types used in the Miami-Dade Florida area.

Specifically foundations that would support a large transmission tower, or something very similar. Whether that be driven piles, drilled shafts, large spread footings, etc.

The most common deep foundation element in building construction is Auger-Cast Piles - by far. FDOT projects utilize driven piles and drilled shafts although they are starting to utilize Auger-Cast Piles. I am not entirely familiar with the transmission tower sector around here.

Depends on the loads.....but in south Florida, if we are talking heavy loads (like towers), most likely we are talking piles.

It would require a huge shallow foundation for a tower in Miami-Dade. Usually piles or drilled shaft. If monopole, drilled shaft is more efficient.
