Micron Dimensions in SolidWorks

Hi,
I have to model a MEMS geometry in Solidworks with micron dimensions. In the system options when i change the units to microns and try to sketch it does not show any sketch (as shown in attachment). How can I make my sketch visible with micron dimensions?Please help me.

It looks as though you are not zoomed in close enough.

It remains the same no matter how much I zoom it.

Will auto re-size the planes work?

Look at your cursor position in status bar at the bottom. Your aspect ratio between height and width is probably > 100:1. Try dimensioning the sketch vertically.
