Microstation Macros

When using the Macro record, it seems that it will not record all the commands? I have managed to combine several in one A_Join is the prefix name, but on the Layer control the window stays open and I have to hit the [x] or I think it is alt + F4 and it will close. I would like to know the command to have it close automatically. I am an AcltLt person with a number of years experience, but my new job uses the Bentley Micro-station. I need someone with experience in some kind of computer language? or a book that would not be to in depth for an electrician by trade 40+ years now doing the as built electrical in Bentley?
Any suggestions???
