Microstructual Differences between 6063 and 6082

A have two examples of the same component, that should have been manufactured from aluminium 6063 T6. One appears to be correct, but I suspect the other has been made from 6082 T6. The hardness of the later is approximately 105Hv compared to 75Hv of the former.
I am organising chemcial analysis to be performed to check, but this will take a few days. Is it possible to determine the difference between them by their microstructure - what should I be looking for.

No, they will have very similar microstructures.

I agree with CoryPad, it will be very difficult or impossible to distinguish the two by microstructural evaluation. The volume fraction of Mg₂Si particles will be higher for 6082 vs. 6063 (hence the higher hardness/strength), but unless you are using an image analysis system and a large survey area, I doubt that you would be able to use this as conclusive evidence.
